Position Description:
This position involves the design, development and maintenance of state-of-the-art Java/J2EE based application. This person will work from specifications to develop or modify complex software programming applications. Duties include designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software programs. Determine requirements for new system or new features and documentation of modifications and new code procedures.
Interface with other company units as required insuring software supported is compatible with other facets of the overall environment. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Skills:
Minimum Job Requirements:
Ø 4+ years experience with Java
Ø Design, program and maintain web-based J2EE applications using STRUTS and JSP is a must
Ø Perform analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and maintenance for existing or new applications
Ø Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architectures and OOAD methodology
Ø Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ø Demonstrate broad knowledge of technical solutions
Ø Candidates should have experience in building high performance, reliable and scalable systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment.
Ø Ability to work in a team environment
Ø 3+ years experience with javascript, XML, Tomcat
Ø Travel domain knowledge a plus
Ø Good understanding of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) a plus
Ø Experience with Internationalization (I18n) and Localization (L10n) is a plus
Ø Experience with Agile development methodologies a plus
Ø Experience with AJAX, Flash, Spring, Web services, IntelliJ, Ant, SQL a plus
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of design and construction of large scale integration systems using Java, J2SE, and XML and implementing complex technology in a global and heterogeneous environment. The candidate must have leadership skills to mentor developers and work with Business teams to convey technical aspects of the product.
