Position: Lead Vignette/Java Developer
Description:
Become an integral part of an industry leader in user experience, website design, and content management system implementation. Based in McLean, our client is looking for those on the cutting edge of their field and with extensive experience in the industry.
This role would lead a team of Vignette/Java programmers in development of a new Vignette (VCM & VAP) implementation at a marquee client in the Washington D.C. area. The candidate must possess strong knowledge and implementation experience of the Vignette product suite, Spring Framework/MVC, JSP and Tomcat. Experience with modeling, UML and design/architecture are key skills.
* Applicant must be proficient in the development of portal and collaborative applications using the capabilities of Vignette Collaboration tool (Vignette), and the integration/extension of Vignette applications in a J2EE environment.
* Applicant must be proficient Java software development and COTS integration in a J2EE environment. Individual will be responsible for the development of Vignette application capabilities.
* Applicant will be in a lead role of a fast moving development team. Previous success working in a team environment, including the assignment of tasks to a team of more junior developer as well as gathering and reporting status, is required along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Applicant must be a self starter/success focused individual, a person capable of taking high level requirements and drilling down to define the underlying user stories and delivering a working/maintainable solution.
* Applicant must have experience with Spring/Spring MVC, Tomcat, JDBC, XML, JUnit, and Lucene/Solr.
* Applicant must have experience establishing a development environment (IDEs, installing open source web stack, Ant, Maven, Subversion)
* Qualifications for the applicant are a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or one the Engineering disciples, a minimum of 6 years applicable work experience, where at least three years are of Vignette experience.
Competencies:
* Vignette V7 VCM/VAP/DPM, Java, J2EE, JSP/Servlets, SQL, Oracle, Spring/Spring MVC, Tomcat, JDBC, XML, Hibernate, Ant, Javascript/AJAX, UML, JUnit, Lucene/Solr
* Familiarity with any of the following technologies is a plus: XML, XSL, AJAX, JavaScript, SOAP, Web Services, PKI, and Digital Certificates.
