Job Description : 1. DATABASE ADMINISTRATION
Develop and track database server performance metrics
Perform overall health checks on the database at regular intervals
Execute backup and recovery procedures for databases
Veritas I3 monitoring, management and troubleshooting
Corrective actions and notification procedures for failed backups
Perform database recovery and log shipping in the instances based on the Company business requirements
Create, configure, size and maintain database systems
Manage and maintain database security and database configuration
Configure database tuning parameters to ensure performance levels are met
Apply database patches and fixes as per requirements
Account creation/removal
Instance creation and replication and removal
Persistent performance monitoring and tuning during all global business hours, including SQL evaluation and tuning
Index setting, building, rebuilding
Support for SQL Server 2005 upgrade
Maintain current architecture charts physical, application, integration
All database and environment refreshes
Daily developer support for new modules, SQL tuning, creating new environments, and troubleshooting

2. CHANGE MANAGEMENT AND MIGRATION
Daily project and SQL migrations
Use the Company’s Change Management system and Change Management polices and procedures to migrate objects from the source to target
Implement version control and document changes per the policies mentioned above
3. INCIDENT MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve problems reported by the Company
Log and track all service requests logged by the Company using the Remedy system.
Prioritize service requests and provide a timeframe for resolution of the requests
Provide timely resolutions to service requests logged
4. DESCRIPTION OF SUPPORT SERVICES
initial response to tickets / issues should be ten minutes or less.
5. INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT
Install, and maintain business intelligence infrastructure, such as Business Objects (Crystal Enterprise), MSRS, Analysis Services.
Desired : 1. Three or more years supporting a Data Warehouse environment on MicroSoft SQL Server is required.
2. Database Upgrade experience is required
3. Core compentency required in NT/Win 2000/2003 and SQL Database systems and tools.
4. Experience with Weblogic Apache, batch and reporting server configuration required.
5. In-depth knowledge of SQL Query Analyzer, SQL Profiles, Windows performance monitor.
6. Must be able to perform administrative tasks on SQL server using TSQL.
7. Comprehensive understanding and skills for SQL server performance turning, SQL backup and recover,SQL security, troubleshooting deadlocked or blocking issues.
8. Strong problem solving, analytic and diagnostic skills and tuning skills a must.
9. Must be a team player with good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interface with users.
