Job Title : Solution Architect (J2ee)

Job Description : Manage activity, communications and scheduling as it pertains SunGard
Provide key technical leadership for SunGard business segments moving solutions
Analyze, plan and access the technical architecture of new and existing solutions being considered for
Develop and lead the creation of project plans which will include but not be limited to plan to register, optionally host and implement solutions in Infinity
Create and assist with scripting, preparing, registering, configuring and porting of solutions coming into Infinity
Serve as a liaison for computer services and operations and the business segments moving to Infinity
Provide required support for needed Center of Excellence infrastructure to support new Infinity solutions
Manage the process to incubate and run proof of concepts and testing in the Center of Excellence of new solutions moving to InfinityDeliver Technical presentations of SunGard service offerings to new and existing Customers.
Gather technical information on the customers IT environment. Including but not limited to Data Center Operations, Systems, Networking Infrastructure, Backup processes, applications, user access and business unit interdependencies.
Engage customers to extract critical technical and business drivers that may position SunGard Deliverables.
Maintain familiarity and adherence to all SunGard methods and procedures.
Consistently manage all assigned Support Requests to a timely and successful completion.
Ability to provide second level support including assisting with creating customized or out of the box solutions.
Perform other hardening procedures for components migrating to Infinity including any procedures or processes required for computer operations, compliance and legal.
Communicate effectively with management and ensure escalation and notifications of impacting issues
Assist, recommend and manage the on going assessment of equipment and license renewals as it applies to SunGard and partner supplied infrastructure. Also, provide budget input and support for current and future projects.
Responsible to mentor and evangelize SunGard, its partners and customers on the benefits of Infinity.
Must be able to travel a minimum of 25% as business requires
Desired : BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
Any computer related certifications would be a plus
Minimum of 3 years of IT implementation, design and support experience.
Consulting experience would be a plus
Strong proven project management skills. PMI certification is a plus.
Ability to effectively manage expectations with SunGard business segments, vendors and customers
Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
Able to identify issues and resolve them while working independently and under time constraints.
Security experience a plus
Strong development skills in Java, .net
Knowledge of Cobol, C, C++
System, network, and application administration experience
Architecture experience is desired
Knowledge of web servers
Networking experience is desired
System administration (Linux, Solaris, Windows Server)
Able to define policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate to users, technical staff and senior management - both written and verbal forms - in a professional manner.
Commitment to working extended hours (including on call) when required.
Able to multitask and perform under pressure while being able to prioritize tasks.
