Manager ITRM
• Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge and planning.
• Viewed as an expert one or more specific aspect of information security.
• Acts as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
• Interface and coordinate with other departments to accomplish assigned risk management processes and projects.
• Direct investigations of suspected computer-related crime or malicious activities
• Manage the security for MetLife network using perimeter security systems to control access;
• Conduct ongoing research into emerging information systems technology to anticipate and plan for security measures which may be required.
• Offer security consulting, analysis and support as needed to rectify security exposures identified through assessments, compliance monitoring, audits and/or third-party reviews
• Manage enterprise processes for virus control, email security and incident detection and response;
• Conduct network vulnerability assessments for MetLife, affiliates and subsidiaries
• Act as liaison with the physical security department regarding overlapping information security issues, e.g., investigations, badge access
• Responsible for the planning, design, enforcement and audit of security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files and data elements.
• Responsible for investigating security violations including vulnerability scanning, virus management and intrusion detection. Handles highly sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Maintains knowledge of changing technologies, and provides recommendations for adaptation of new technologies or policies.
• Stays abreast of existing and proposed security standard setting groups, and State and Federal legislation and regulations regarding security.
• Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones nee to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
• Provides management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customer, or corporate security objectives.
• Evaluates and recommends security products, services and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
• Designs, implements and supports technical security systems and infrastructure.
• Provides technical expertise and consulting on security technologies across the organization.
• Serves as project manager for one to several small to medium-sized projects.
• Assembles project team, assigns individual responsibilities and identifies resources needed.
• Determines and documents project scope and deliverables based on documentation and requirements supplied.
• Creates and administers project plan.
• Communicates with PM counterparts/customers to ensure continuing alignment with project objectives.
• Communicates with assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks.
• Resolves project issues through direct action or escalation when necessary.
• Facilitates project meetings. Reports on project status using defined templates.
• Creates and maintains of project documentation
• Act as liaison with the physical security department regarding overlapping information security issues, e.g., investigations, badge access
• Act as liaison with human resources about personnel issues related to information security; e.g., background checks for security-sensitive positions, terminations due to policy non-compliance.
